Generating of Test Data by Harmony Search Against Genetic Algorithms

Many search-based algorithms have been successfully applied in several software engineering activities. Genetic (GAs) are the most used scientific domains by scholars to solve testing problems. They imitate theory of natural selection and evolution. The harmony search algorithm (HSA) is one recent last years. It imitates behavior a musician find best harmony. Scholars estimated similarities differences between genetic diverse research domains. test data generation process represents critical task validation. Unfortunately, there no work comparing performance process. This paper studies based on ability speed finding required data. current performs an empirical comparison HSA GAs, then significance results using t-Test. study investigates efficiency according (1) time performance, (2) generated data, (3) adequacy satisfy given criterion. showed that significantly faster than because t-Test p-value values 0.026 < α (α level = 0.05 at 95% confidence level). In contrast, significant difference two generating adequate fitness 0.25 > α.
